Permit Cost

Gorilla tracking permits in Uganda are issued by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA). The permit fee covers park entry, ranger guides, security, and one hour with a gorilla family. Prices may vary for foreign non-residents, foreign residents, and East African citizens.

How to Book Permits

Permits can be booked through the Uganda Wildlife Authority or through a licensed tour operator. Early booking is highly recommended, especially during peak seasons, as permits are limited per day.

 Rules and Regulations

Visitors must follow park guidelines including maintaining distance from gorillas, no flash photography, no feeding animals, and following ranger instructions at all times to protect both visitors and wildlife.

 Age Limits

The minimum age for gorilla tracking in Uganda is 15 years. This ensures safety and responsible wildlife interaction.

 Group Size Limits

Each gorilla family is visited by a maximum of 8 people per day, ensuring minimal disturbance to the gorillas and a more exclusive trekking experience.
